Maracuja Club is born from a strong passion to change life for the better without adding extra costs - doing things different, but with the same base resources.

Simply through re-arranging spaces, and grounding the staff behaviours in a clearly logical evidence base, we can totally and postively transform the experience of giving and receiving care.

The Maracuja Club concept has been in development for 9 years, and translated into a startup company over the the course of the last 2.

We are now at the fundraising stage, and need strong popular support to show investors the enormous appetite for change within the public.

William is a multi award winning architect, dedicated to design that enhances the social experience. Developing Maracuja Club with Roland is the culmination of his architectural career. His awards include the National RIBA Award, Regional RIBA Award, Green Apple Award, Wood Awards, Civic Trust Award and more. Early in the development of what would become Maracuja Club, William was awarded a 'Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Travelling Fellowship' to visit acclaimed Environments of care on three Continents.

Roland's background is in the Arts, front line care, and providing creative activities to both young people, as well as older people and those living with dementia, stroke, depression and other complex needs. From both 1st hand, family and friends' experiences, it became clear to Roland that care in many sectors, especially for older people and dementia was not what it could and should be. Teaming up with William, he set up the specialist companies Architectonicus and Metamorphosen to research, study, explore and trial how an evidence based approach to design and care model could be delivered, based upon the proven principles of enhancing wellbeing and reducing stress in the built and social environments. This resulted in the framework, successfully trialed over a 6 month period, that now forms the backbone of the Maracuja Club project.

Together, while developing what would go on to become Maracuja Club, Roland and William McMorran were invited to speak at National Dementia Congress, NAIDEX, Future of Care Conference, Housing Lin West Midlands Conference, Tech Severn, abroad at Johanseberg Retirement Village Managers Summit and more...

Recognition over the years, didn't stop there, they were awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Dementia Care award at UK Dementia, Care and Nursing Homes Expo in 2018. They were sought out by researchers and care professionals visiting the UK from Japan, and spent time on University of Worcester's Association of Dementia Studies, 'Expert Working Group', as well as Surrey NHS' 'Grand Challenge Round Table'.

But our story doesn't end with Maracuja Club, it begins with it.
To make the change happen, we need your support. Sign up, stay in the loop, and let's make the groundswell of support for doing care differently a reality.
